Let's be real. What you really want to read about in an update from our family is some amazing Ugandan kids who have been blessed by YES Uganda's programs!
Meet sweet little Ronnie. I met Ronnie a year ago during a visit to Uganda. Ronnie was 6 years old and couldn't walk when he arrived at the rescue home. His mother died giving birth to him and his father was very young. Villagers cared for Ronnie at first, then turned him over to his dad who had no idea how to care for a young child. Ronnie ended up in very poor condition and was brought to YES Uganda's rescue home. Ronnie was loved well by the staff and other children and has not only learned to walk, but has thrived! The father is now re-married and is working hard to learn how to parent Ronnie in a loving way. In this picture, his father and new mother were visiting him at the home and had bought a suit and tie for him. Our goal now is to help the dad with some training, perhaps in the vocational training center, and strengthen the home so that Ronnie can grow up in his family and in the village he is from!

On this side of the ocean, the countdown has begun for our family!
There are only 26 days until our family leaves for missionary training!
When we pull out of the driveway to travel to training on Saturday, October 22nd, our one time budget will be 100% funded! What a great number: 100%!! This is due not only to generous one time gifts that have been given, but also our current monthly donations that have accumulated.
OUR BIGGEST NEED NOW: We are officially at 82% of our needed monthly/yearly giving and asking that all friends who are still praying about their monthly giving levels will begin their EFT bank draft in the next 26 days so we can buy airfare and deploy December 7th!

The Amaani Rwenzori project will offer many vocational skills as well as training in business management and life skills and other needed subjects. The construction phase is almost complete. The project manager has been extremely busy locating equipment and furniture to assist with the many skills we will teach on site. That includes a complete beautician building, a sewing and high end tailoring class, a large classroom, as well as a ceramics building. The ceramics will be a first for Western Uganda and skilled trainers as well as kilns and pottery wheels are on their way from Germany. A grand opening is scheduled for November 29th. If we are funded soon, our plan is to arrive just in Fort Portal less than 2 weeks after the grand opening! Daryn will be teaching business classes for students in the center.
Thanks for praying and giving so generously, dear friends!!
God bless,
Daryn, Brooke, Grace, Anteneh, JoAn, and Luke West
